DRINKING WATER IN THE HEIGHT ZONES OF KRUSCE VILLAGE

Hygienically healthy drinking water is one of the basic pre-conditions of people good health. WHO put the water - supplying and water quality into 12 basic markers of health status of citizens of one country and Palilula Municipality in Nis with many activities on the improvement of life quality of citizens determines its own strategic features and role in the protection of health of every individual. Water supply is one of the basic problems in rural and suburbia parts of Palilula, said Boban Dzunic, president of this Municipality. That is why with Krusce villagers we are today in action of making capable the using of water system that will be used by over two hundred of citizens of this settlement who, for the height zones, were not in possibility to use the existing one net. Palilula Municipality donated one cistern to this village and up to the end of month we will provide necessary pool isolation. In the cooperation with the Institute for public health Municipality it was provided cleaning and disinfection of reservoir -water pool, so that the usage of this water supply system will be safe.

All our coalition partners are included in this action I am only one of these first people – authorities of Palilula Municipality who in this way wants to point to the fact that only with joint forces we can solve the problems in the territory of our municipality, emphasizes Dzunic. This year theme of celebration of World Water Day was directed to attracting attention of international and domestic public to the cooperation factor when exploitation of this resource is the matter of discussion.According to Tomislav Stojanovic words, president of Citizens Council of Krusce village, Palilula Municipality did a lot to successfully solve this problem. We got these pools, we changed asbestos fuel with plastic pipe and now the next step is complete reconstruction of the net and agreement with Public Enterprise Naisus to take over the maintaining of the whole water system.

Here we have lived for two and half years, says Danijela Stojkovic. The life in these conditions without water is very hard, specially in winter period and with small child, even for regular daily needs of keeping hygiene. Up to now we have carried the water from the well. With making able this water supply system to work normally, emphasizes Danijela, for all of us it will be much better.

Supplying with drinking water in Palilula Municipality is collective and individual. Collective system of water supply as of major type in urban part (has four height zones) and partly in suburbia and rural parts is under the responsibility of Public Enterprise `Naisus`. Certain village settlements in Palilula has local rural water supplies. Water supply is not connected to city water supply and about its correctness take care the people who live in villages: Berbatovo, Donje Vlase, Vukmanovo. In villages Mramor, Gabrovac and Krusce, water supply is connected to city water supply system over one water meter at the entrance to village and about functioning of the water supply take care people who live there over local community building with the help of Palilula Municipality and Institute for public heath and according to the needs also Naissus public enterprise. However, according to president Duznic words that is not safe and enough. Plan for solving water supply and other settlements in rural areas of Palilula municipality is similar to project of Krusce village. In the Programme of Nis City development for 2013 are taken into account new investments in this area at the territory of Palilula.
